
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Jamesenez on September 2, 1966, is an American and Mexican actor and producer. She began her career in Mexico with her starring role in the Telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) for which she earned an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were only some of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's performance as Frida painter in Frida (2002) the film that she also produced and directed, made Hayek the first Mexican actress to be awarded the Academy Award [6]. The film also won her a Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek was a part of the action-oriented Once Upon a Time in Mexico films over the next years and concentrated more on producing.
